Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published or previously submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The file sent is in doc, docx or rtf format.
  • Added web addresses or DOIs for references where possible
  • The text has single line spacing; the font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlined (except for URLs); and all figures and tables are within the text in the place that corresponds to them and not at the end of the whole, duly referenced and with their corresponding notes and footnotes, following APA regulations, 7th Edition.
  • The text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Guidelines for authors that can be found in SUBMISSIONS
  • The document must be properly anonymized, following the instructions in the Guidelines for authors that can be found in SUBMISSIONS
  • In the “Comments for the editor” section, the order of authors must be included, as well as their specific contribution: https://quadernsdepsicologia.cat/contribuciones

Author Guidelines

For the submission of the work, authors must follow the rules expressed in the following points.

  1. When submitting the article, the following must be indicated in the “Comments for the editor”:

The order of the authors presenting the article (which cannot be altered later), and their specific contribution, following the guidelines in https://quadernsdepsicologia.cat/contribuciones

In addition, the funding agencies and project codes must also be indicated.

This text is only intended to record the funding agencies, the order of authorship, and their contribution. Therefore, information such as affiliation,

ORCID, biographical note, etc., should not be included in this section.

In the process of submitting the work, in "Step 2: Entering Submission Metadata," the following information must be included at a minimum:
    • For each author, full name, institutional affiliation, and email address.
    • Title of the work (in the original language of the text and in English), maximum 15 words.
    • Abstract (in the original language of the text and in English), with a minimum length f 150 words. Avoid giving agency to the abstract (better "in this work I discuss" than "this work discusses").
    • Keywords (in the original language of the text and in English). A maximum of four keywords for each language, separated by ";" (semicolon). At least 2 of them must be derived from http://decs.bvsalud.org/E/homepagee.htm or Mesh Terms
  2. From the information provided in the previous step, the title, abstract, and keywords must appear in the text of the work.
  3. Articles must be written in a clear and pedagogical style. The Quaderns de Psicologia Committee advises abolishing the impersonal style in narration and avoiding the use of ultra-specialized lexicon.
  4. Authors should avoid footnotes as much as possible. In any case, Quaderns de Psicologia will accept them as long as they do not hinder the agile reading of the text. When they exist, they should appear at the bottom of the page.
  5. Only a maximum of three levels of titles duly specified will be admitted: Title 1, Title 2, Title 3. References must fundamentally follow the APA norms (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition), with two exceptions:
    • In the list of bibliographic references, the full name of the cited authors will always appear. When cited in the text, at least the first time, they will be named with their first name and last name.
    • Citations will always be made using the year of their original edition, placing the year of the cited edition at the end of the reference. Normas de referencia bibliográfica.
  6. Figures must be made with sufficient quality for digital reproction, and the original graphic files must be attached in a separate file (preferably in JPG or PNG format). They must have a maximum size of 15 cm, and the font size must be perfectly legible if printed, not too small. Horizontal pages for larger images are not accepted.
  7. The text file must be in doc, docx, or rtf format.
  8. Published articles will have a maximum length of 7000 words, including appendices and excluding metadata and references. In the case of book reviews and brief reports, the maximum length will be 3000 words.
  9. All communications regarding editorial decisions and other matters will be carried out entirely within the platform.

Anonymization of Manuscripts

To ensure the integrity of the anonymous peer review, every effort must be made to prevent authors from knowing the identity of the reviewers and vice versa. To do this, authors, editors, and reviewers who upload documents as part of the review must ensure that the following steps related to the text and file properties have been followed:

  • Authors have removed their names from the text and used "Author" and the year of publication in references and footnotes instead of the author's name, article title, etc.
  • Authors have removed personal information from the file properties by following these steps:

Microsoft Word for Windows:

    • Go to "File"
    • Select "Info"
    • Click on "Check for Issues"
    • Click on "Inspect Document"
    • In the "Document Inspector" dialog box, select the checkboxes to choose the type of hidden content you want to inspect.
    • Click on "Remove All"
    • Click on "Close"
    • Save the document

Microsoft Word for MacOS:

    • Go to "Tools"
    • Click on "Protect Document"
    • Select "Remove personal information from this file on save"
    • Click OK and save the file
