Avoidance Behavior and Flooding Techniques: Theory and Comparison of Experiments in Animals and Humans

Abstract

This paper formulates a theoretical model for avoidance behaviour. Afterwards, a set of experinzents, executed in the «Laboratori de Conducta (UAB)», about  flooding (blocking of esponse) and its effects on emotional and avoidance response extinction are review. Finally, the avoidance analogical model for human ansious behaviour is critically revised.
