“¿Por qué psicofármacos?”: Experiencias y dilemas morales de adolescentes en contexto de hospitalización psiquiátrica

Este artículo explora las experiencias y dilemas morales asociados al uso de psicofármacos de adolescentes hospitalizados en una unidad de psiquiatría infanto-juvenil en Francia. A partir de un estudio etnográfico basado en observación participante, se analizan las tensiones morales, relacionales y subjetivas en torno al diagnóstico psiquiátrico y al tratamiento farmacológico. Los resultados muestran que los psicofármacos son vividos de forma ambivalente: como recursos necesarios para el control de crisis y la regulación emocional, pero también como tecnologías percibidas como impuestas, generadoras de dependencia y amenazas a la autonomía y autenticidad. Las narrativas adolescentes revelan procesos activos de negociación, resistencia y apropiación del saber médico, así como disputas simbólicas en torno a la identidad, el autocontrol y la agencia. El artículo contribuye a una reflexión crítica sobre las prácticas psiquiátricas en contextos de hospitalización, subrayando la importancia de incorporar las voces y experiencias adolescentes en la toma de decisiones terapéuticas.
