Significado del trabajo e imágenes de la vejez en servicios para personas mayores a través de descriptores libres

Resumen

Este estudio examina cómo el significado del trabajo y las imágenes de la vejez se articulan semánticamente en el personal de primera línea de servicios para personas mayores. Se aplicaron descriptores asociativos abiertos a 240 trabajadores de servicios sanitarios, residenciales, centros de día y ocio, codificados por contenido y valencia. El análisis de correspondencias modeló el campo semántico que vincula el Significado del Trabajo (MoW) y las Imágenes de la Vejez (IOA). Predominaron los descriptores con valencia positiva, especialmente en MoW, donde las categorías más frecuentes fueron Satisfacción y bienestar, Compromiso y motivación, y Ética y trato humano; en IOA destacaron Experiencia, sabiduría y legado, y Calidez y amabilidad. Se identificaron cinco sectores semánticos —Formalidad, Transacciones, Relaciones, Compasión y Resultados— que articulan cómo los trabajadores conceptualizan su rol y a las personas mayores. Los hallazgos subrayan la interdependencia entre ambos dominios, con implicaciones para la formación, la reflexión y el desarrollo organizacional.
