Abstract

Social autonomy is one of the characteristic traits of adolescence. The degree of autonomy and independance may be considered as an index of psychosocial maturity. In order to assess the degree of autonomy at 8th years EGB students from an agricultural-industrial village (7500 inhab.), close to Barcelona, we have used the dimension “autonomy of behaviour” from the questionnaire DPS/74 of C. Coulbaut. We attempt to find out wheather schools with differentiated educational systems influence the development of Psychosocia1 maturity. Sex, puberty, the age of the parents and place of residence are also considered.
