Abstract

Etho-spatial dynamism depending on environmental variables has been studied from the exemplary viewpoint of environmental psychology and has been developed in the Sacreds Baboons (Hamadryas) and Anubis section of the Barcelona Zoo. The possible influence of the environment on behavior in both a spatial and social context has been studied and concepts such as “natural unit”, “behavior setting”, “mobility level”, etc., have been used at a methodological-observational leve1 in order to shed light on the event-individual-environment relationship concerning: social structure organisation, individual and group space and behavior, and the incidence of environmental variables on socio-spatial behavior. Furthermore, terms such as: territoriality, interindividual distances, over-crowding, stress, etc. have been introduced in order to emphasis the need for interdiscqlinary exchanges in the fields of Psychology, Ethology, and Biology
