Absences as a challenge for the conceptualization of contemporary social mobilities
Abstract
In this article, I analyze the meanings associated to contemporary social mobilities. Within these broad disciplinary, historical and social perspectives, it specifically focuses on recognizing the ways in which the discursive construction of absences raises new questions on theoretical developments in thinking and psychosocial research. In this respect, it has been shown that absences, both individual or collective, affect emotions, the construction of social links, and are a key element in memory practices. This is contextualized as social action or individual skills. For the writing of this article, I consider the ideas of prominent scholars such as Max Weber, on the autonomy of migrations. And Abdelmalek Sayad and his ideas on the need to constitute the sociology of absences. In doing so, the article takes on the challenge of co-producing disciplinary knowledge to focus on absences and absentees. Keywords
