Neonatal Behavioral Assessment
Abstract
Present interest in child behavior from the very moment of birth serves a double purpose: it allows for the early detection of possible disfunctions on one hand, and on the other it opens up perspectives for new techniques of psychological assessment developed from the direct observation of infants.
This paper presents seven scales specially designed for neonatal behavior, together with an analysis of their technical characteristics and suggestions as to their possible ways of application.
