<title><bold>Resumo</bold></title>
<p>Esta pesquisa objetivou conhecer o papel preditivo dos valores humanos, da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e da sa&#x00FA;de geral com rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o &#x00E0; depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone. Contou-se com a participa&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de 390 pessoas da popula&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o geral, com idades variando de 18 a 69 anos (M = 27, DP = 8,91), sendo a maioria do sexo feminino (71%). Estes responderam &#x00E0; <italic>Escala de Depend&#x00EA;ncia do Smartphone (vers&#x00E3;o reduzida)</italic>, <italic>Escala de Procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de Tuckman</italic>, <italic>Question&#x00E1;rio de Sa&#x00FA;de Geral (QSG-12)</italic>, <italic>Question&#x00E1;rio dos Valores B&#x00E1;sicos (QVB)</italic> e perguntas demogr&#x00E1;ficas. Os resultados indicaram que a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone est&#x00E1; positivamente relacionada &#x00E0; procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, resultando em preju&#x00ED;zos &#x00E0; sa&#x00FA;de geral, tais como n&#x00ED;veis maiores de ansiedade e depress&#x00E3;o. Conclui-se que os valores, a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e os n&#x00ED;veis de ansiedade atuam como importantes preditores para o comportamento dependente do smartphone.</p>

<title><bold><italic>Abstract</italic></bold></title>
<p><italic>This research aimed to understand the predictive role of human values, procrastination and general health in relation to smartphone dependence. Participated 390 people from the general, with ages ranging from 18 to 69 years old (M = 27, SD = 8.91), mostly female (71%). They answered the Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS, reduced version), Tuckman's Procrastination Scale, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), Basic Values Survey (BVS) and demographic questions. The results indicating that smartphone dependence is positively related to procrastination, resulting in damage to general health, such as higher levels of anxiety and depression. It was concluded that values, procrastination and anxiety levels were shown to be important predictors for smartphone-dependent behavior.</italic></p>

<title><bold>I<sc>ntrodu&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o</sc></bold></title>
<p>Em 2019, 66% da popula&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o mundial possu&#x00ED;a um smartphone e este n&#x00FA;mero permanece em crescimento com uma taxa anual de 2,5% ao ano (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-19-1834">Kemp, 2019</xref>). Recentemente, pesquisas em pa&#x00ED;ses como China, Coreia do Sul e Taiwan identificaram que as pessoas est&#x00E3;o utilizando excessivamente o smartphone, com uma m&#x00E9;dia di&#x00E1;ria de 4 horas (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-22-1834">Long et al., 2016</xref>), enquanto os brasileiros passaram mais de 3 horas por dia usando o celular, ocupando a 5&#x00AA; coloca&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o no ranking global de tempo dedicado ao uso do aparelho (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-17-1834">Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estat&#x00ED;stica [IBGE], 2016</xref>).</p>
<p>O smartphone configura-se como um aparelho que faz parte do cotidiano das pessoas, seja no acesso &#x00E0; internet, uso de redes sociais ou jogos online, este aparelho permite executar diferentes tarefas ao longo do dia (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-36-1834">Sohn et al., 2019</xref>). Nesta dire&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, visto que o tempo disponibilizado para o uso do smartphone pode ultrapassar o da conclus&#x00E3;o de outras atividades rotineiras, observa-se a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o com uma poss&#x00ED;vel pr&#x00E1;tica associada ao seu uso, sendo definida como a falta ou aus&#x00EA;ncia de desempenho autorregulado, ocasionando uma tend&#x00EA;ncia a adiar, evitar ou atrasar voluntariamente a conclus&#x00E3;o de uma atividade sob o controle de algu&#x00E9;m (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-23-1834">Martin&#x010D;ekov&#x00E1; e Enright, 2018</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-39-1834">Tuckman, 1991</xref>).</p>
<p>Estudos cl&#x00E1;ssicos sobre a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o costumam compreender o termo como um comportamento volunt&#x00E1;rio de adiar ao m&#x00E1;ximo uma atividade relevante e substitu&#x00ED;-la pela realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de outra atividade geralmente sem import&#x00E2;ncia, relacionando tamb&#x00E9;m a indicadores de sa&#x00FA;de geral dos indiv&#x00ED;duos, tais como a depress&#x00E3;o, ansiedade social, estresse e baixa autoestima (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-6-1834">Constantin et al., 2018</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-8-1834">Duru e Balkis, 2017</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-11-1834">Flett et al., 2016</xref>).</p>
<p>Os resultados das pesquisas mostram que as pessoas tendem a procrastinar porque se orientam por sentimentos de prazer &#x00E0; curto prazo (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-33-1834">Sirois e Pychyl, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-38-1834">Tice e Bratslavsky, 2000</xref>), por&#x00E9;m, posteriormente se sentem culpadas por tal comportamento (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-27-1834">Przepiorka et al., 2016</xref>). Al&#x00E9;m de estar associada &#x00E0; redu&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o na produtividade acad&#x00EA;mica e laboral (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-14-1834">Grunschel et al., 2016</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-15-1834">Gustavson e Miyake, 2017</xref>), podendo impactar na sa&#x00FA;de geral do indiv&#x00ED;duo. Nesse contexto, pesquisadores t&#x00EA;m dedicado aten&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o para avaliar em que medida o uso do smartphone impacta no cotidiano das pessoas, incluindo vari&#x00E1;veis como procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, ansiedade e depress&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-9-1834">Elhaia et al., 2018</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-10-1834">Esichaiku et al., 2016</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-31-1834">Rozgonjuk et al., 2018</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>).</p>
<p>Pesquisas indicam que a rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o entre o uso excessivo do smartphone e o v&#x00ED;cio em internet influenciam diretamente no comportamento de procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-31-1834">Rozgonjuk et al., 2018</xref>), comprometem o bem-estar (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-28-1834">Reinecke et al., 2018</xref>) e a sa&#x00FA;de psicol&#x00F3;gica (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>), resultando em preju&#x00ED;zos para os procrastinadores que sentem-se mal e experimentam mais sentimentos como arrependimento e ansiedade e consequentemente, apresentam maiores &#x00ED;ndices de estresse e pior sa&#x00FA;de mental (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-27-1834">Przepiorka et al., 2016</xref>).</p>
<p>Desta maneira, visto que no modo de vida da sociedade atual os indiv&#x00ED;duos est&#x00E3;o cada vez mais conectados por meio do smartphone e, consequentemente, mais pr&#x00F3;ximos das redes sociais, ampliar os achados de pesquisas que investigam a rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o entre uso do smartphone, procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e sa&#x00FA;de, articulando com um aspecto psicossocial que auxiliam na compreens&#x00E3;o de comportamentos e necessidades, com os valores humanos (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-20-1834">Kennedy e Tuckman, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-34-1834">Soares, 2015</xref>), torna-se pertinente. Principalmente, ao considerar que s&#x00E3;o dimens&#x00F5;es cuja preval&#x00EA;ncia e viv&#x00EA;ncia est&#x00E1; intrinsecamente relacionada &#x00E0;s caracter&#x00ED;sticas culturais, psicol&#x00F3;gicas e de estilo de vida.</p>
<sec id="sec-2-1834">
<title><bold>Uso do smartphone, procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e sa&#x00FA;de geral</bold></title>
<p>Nos &#x00FA;ltimos anos, identifica-se um maior interesse por parte dos pesquisadores em investigar comportamentos e construtos psicol&#x00F3;gicos relacionados ao uso do smartphone (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-16-1834">Horvath et al., 2020</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>), &#x00E0; procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-30-1834">Rozental et al., 2018</xref>) e indicadores de sa&#x00FA;de geral (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-8-1834">Duru e Balkis, 2017</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>). Zeyang Yang et al., (2018) ao considerar estudantes universit&#x00E1;rios, avaliaram a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o associada ao uso excessivo ou descontrolado do smartphone/internet, cujos resultados indicaram que o uso problem&#x00E1;tico do aparelho influencia no aumento da ansiedade e da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o acad&#x00EA;mica. Com outros achados identificando que o uso excessivo do smartphone e o v&#x00ED;cio em internet influenciam tamb&#x00E9;m no comportamento de procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o geral, no bem-estar e na sa&#x00FA;de psicol&#x00F3;gica (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-31-1834">Rozgonjuk et al., 2018</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>).</p>
<p>O uso problem&#x00E1;tico do smartphone &#x00E9; comumente definido como uma s&#x00ED;ndrome, um transtorno que possui sintomas cognitivos e comportamentais, que resultam em consequ&#x00EA;ncias sociais, acad&#x00EA;micas e profissionais (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-5-1834">Caplan, 2007</xref>). Enquanto a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o compreende aspectos cognitivos, afetivos ou comportamentais que a depender das caracter&#x00ED;sticas espec&#x00ED;ficas do indiv&#x00ED;duo, podem levar a manifesta&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es em diferentes contextos (e.g., acad&#x00EA;mico, profissional e pessoal; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-24-1834">Metin et al., 2018</xref>) e envolve uma tend&#x00EA;ncia a adiar, evitar ou atrasar voluntariamente a conclus&#x00E3;o de uma atividade sob o controle de algu&#x00E9;m (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-39-1834">Tuckman, 1991</xref>).</p>
<p>Por sua vez, a sa&#x00FA;de geral contempla o conceito de sa&#x00FA;de em seu sentido amplo, estando relacionada &#x00E0; promo&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o do bem-estar, preven&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, tratamento e a reabilita&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o das pessoas que sofrem por transtornos mentais. Tais transtornos podem ser classificados segundo o DSM-V de acordo com sua gravidade, sendo, principalmente aqueles que levam &#x00E0; incapacidade e est&#x00E3;o relacionados &#x00E0; ansiedade e depress&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-26-1834">Proudfoot et al., 2004</xref>).</p>
<p>O comportamento de procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o &#x00E9; uma importante fonte de sofrimento psicol&#x00F3;gico para os indiv&#x00ED;duos (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-22-1834">Long et al., 2016</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-28-1834">Reinecke et al., 2018</xref>), sendo o mesmo ampliado quando o comportamento procrastinador &#x00E9; associado ao uso excessivo do smartphone/internet (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>). <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-10-1834">Esichaiku et al., (2016)</xref> avaliaram a rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o entre o v&#x00ED;cio em smartphone a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o acad&#x00EA;mica, concluindo que a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone associada &#x00E0; procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o leva &#x00E0; piora do desempenho acad&#x00EA;mico e ao aumento do estresse.</p>
<p>Ampliando as evid&#x00EA;ncias para a rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o entre o uso do smartphone/internet e o estado de sa&#x00FA;de da popula&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-37-1834">Stefan Stieger e David Lewetz (2018)</xref> avaliaram o efeito da aus&#x00EA;ncia do uso do smartphone e internet por sete dias em um grupo de pessoas da popula&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o geral. Os resultados demonstraram que a abstin&#x00EA;ncia do uso do aparelho impactou no estado de sa&#x00FA;de geral dos participantes, resultando em n&#x00ED;veis maiores de ansiedade e/ou depress&#x00E3;o, sugerindo que o emprego descontrolado do smartphone impacta na sa&#x00FA;de psicol&#x00F3;gica.</p>
<p>Leonard <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Zeyang Yang et al. (2019)</xref> identificaram padr&#x00E3;o semelhante entre universit&#x00E1;rios chineses onde o uso problem&#x00E1;tico do smartphone previa a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e ansiedade acad&#x00EA;mica. <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-28-1834">Enquanto Reinecke et al. (2018)</xref> ampliam os achados ao identificar que o v&#x00ED;cio em smartphone prejudica a sa&#x00FA;de mental dos indiv&#x00ED;duos como um todo, inclusive no aumento dos indicadores de depress&#x00E3;o e ansiedade geral.</p>
<p>Segundo o DSM-V (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-1-1834">American Psychiatric Association [APA], 2013</xref>), os transtornos de ansiedade compartilham caracter&#x00ED;sticas de medo excessivo, sendo o medo a resposta emocional &#x00E0; amea&#x00E7;a iminente real ou percebida, enquanto a ansiedade &#x00E9; a antecipa&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o da amea&#x00E7;a futura. J&#x00E1; a depress&#x00E3;o pode ser identificada e classificada dentro dos transtornos depressivos, sendo que, tais transtornos possuem caracter&#x00ED;sticas comuns como, a presen&#x00E7;a de humor triste, vazio ou irrit&#x00E1;vel, acompanhado de altera&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es som&#x00E1;ticas e cognitivas que afetam significativamente a capacidade de funcionamento do indiv&#x00ED;duo.</p>
<p>Diante do observado, estima-se que vari&#x00E1;veis como uso do smartphone, procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e sa&#x00FA;de geral podem ser relacionadas a um construto mais resistente &#x00E0; mudan&#x00E7;a e que compartilha de aspectos psicossociais vinculados a cultura e caracter&#x00ED;sticas individuais, denominado de valores humanos (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-12-1834">Gouveia, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-34-1834">Soares, 2015</xref>).</p>
</sec>
<sec id="sec-3-1834">
<title><bold>Valores Humanos</bold></title>
<p>Dentre os construtos de cunho psicol&#x00F3;gico que pode contribuir para a explica&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o das vari&#x00E1;veis mencionadas anteriormente, destacam-se os valores humanos. Na literatura, s&#x00E3;o identificadas diferentes teorias que definem o que s&#x00E3;o valores, a exemplo dos modelos cl&#x00E1;ssicos elaborados por <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-29-1834">Milton Rokeach (1973)</xref> e <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-32-1834">Shalon Schwartz (1992)</xref>, e mais recentes, como a proposta por <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-12-1834">Valdiney Gouveia (2013)</xref> que integra os conceitos anteriores de forma parcimoniosa e ser&#x00E1; empregada nesta pesquisa.</p>
<p>A teoria funcionalista dos valores humanos (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-12-1834">Gouveia, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-13-1834">Gouveia et al., 2014</xref>), a define os valores como aspectos que guiam o comportamento dos indiv&#x00ED;duos no meio social e representam cognitivamente as necessidades humanas (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-34-1834">Soares, 2015</xref>), de modo a influenciar uma ampla variedade de contextos e construtos, inclusive na maneira como a qual as pessoas lidam com uso do smartphone, com a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e com a sa&#x00FA;de geral.</p>
<p>Dentre as fun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es dos valores s&#x00E3;o identificadas duas: guiar o comportamento e representar cognitivamente as necessidades humanas. O cruzamento das fun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es derivam seis subfun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es valorativas, descritas a seguir: (1) experimenta&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o: diz respeito a satisfa&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o das necessidades fisiol&#x00F3;gicas, sendo composta pelos marcadores valorativos prazer, emo&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e sexualidade; (2) realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o: inclui os marcadores valorativos &#x00EA;xito, poder e prest&#x00ED;gio, caracterizando a busca por realiza&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es materiais, praticidade nos comportamentos e decis&#x00F5;es, sucesso pessoal e autoestima; (3) exist&#x00EA;ncia, est&#x00E1; relacionada a satisfa&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o das necessidades mais b&#x00E1;sicas, onde o indiv&#x00ED;duo prioriza aspectos relacionados a sa&#x00FA;de, sobreviv&#x00EA;ncia e estabilidade pessoal; (4) suprapessoal, caracteriza indiv&#x00ED;duos que priorizam a est&#x00E9;tica e cogni&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, sendo formado pelos marcadores valorativos de conhecimento, maturidade e beleza; (5) interativa, caracterizado por indiv&#x00ED;duos que endossam as necessidades de perten&#x00E7;a, amor e filia&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o pelos seus pares; e (6) normativa, que compreende o respeito pelas normas e tradi&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o da cultura, sendo representada por religiosidade, tradi&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e obedi&#x00EA;ncia (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-12-1834">Gouveia, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-34-1834">Soares, 2015</xref>).</p>
<p>Considerando a descri&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o das subfun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es valorativas e as evid&#x00EA;ncias que indiv&#x00ED;duos que apresentam maior depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone s&#x00E3;o mais motivados a buscar realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-3-1834">Bukhori et al., 2019</xref>), &#x00E9; poss&#x00ED;vel hipotetizar que o uso do smartphone esteja relacionado aos valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, pois indiv&#x00ED;duos que endossam este tipo de valor em maior grau tendem a buscar sucesso pessoal. Por outro lado, visto que a depend&#x00EA;ncia pelo smartphone vincula-se &#x00E0; amplia&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o no uso de redes sociais, estima-se que pessoas mais dependentes utilizem este aparelho como instrumento de manuten&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o ou forma&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de v&#x00ED;nculos sociais, caracter&#x00ED;stica presente em indiv&#x00ED;duos que endossam valores interativos.</p>
<p>Diante do exposto, justifica-se o presente estudo que tem como objetivo geral avaliar o papel preditivo dos valores humanos, da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e da sa&#x00FA;de geral com rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone. Especificamente, buscar-se-&#x00E1; avaliar em que medida e dire&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o as vari&#x00E1;veis se correlacionam, incluindo o tempo de uso de algumas redes sociais. Em raz&#x00E3;o da escassez de pesquisas que analisem as vari&#x00E1;veis simultaneamente, optou-se por n&#x00E3;o formular hip&#x00F3;teses a respeito do relacionamento entre os construtos.</p>
</sec>
</sec>
<sec id="sec-4-1834" sec-type="methods">
<title><bold>M<sc>&#x00E9;todo</sc></bold></title>
<sec id="sec-5-1834">
<title><bold>Participantes</bold></title>
<p>Participaram 390 pessoas oriundas da popula&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o geral, as quais apresentaram idade m&#x00E9;dia de 27 anos (DP = 8,91; variando de 18 a 69 anos), sendo 71,5% participantes do sexo feminino e 28,2% do sexo masculino, 76% solteiros e 42% com ensino superior incompleto. Tratou-se de uma amostra de conveni&#x00EA;ncia (n&#x00E3;o probabil&#x00ED;stica), contando-se com aqueles que, quando solicitados, dispuseram-se a participar da pesquisa.</p>
</sec>
<sec id="sec-6-1834">
<title><bold>Instrumentos</bold></title>
<p>Al&#x00E9;m de perguntas para caracteriza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o demogr&#x00E1;ficas (e.g., idade, sexo e escolaridade) e sobre o tempo de uso das redes sociais (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter e WhatsApp), os participantes responderam &#x00E0;s medidas descritas a seguir:</p>
<p>Escala de Depend&#x00EA;ncia do Smartphone &#x2013; Reduzida (EDS-R). Essa medida &#x00E9; a vers&#x00E3;o reduzida da escala <italic>Smartphone AddictionScale</italic>, originalmente elaborada por <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-21-1834">Min Kwon et al. (2013)</xref>, sendo constitu&#x00ED;da por 10 itens (e.g., Uso meu smartphone por mais tempo do que eu pretendia; Tenho meu smartphone em mente, mesmo quando n&#x00E3;o estou usando), respondidos em uma escala de seis pontos, variando de 1 (discordo totalmente) a 6 (concordo totalmente), medindo de maneira unidimensional o quanto as pessoas est&#x00E3;o dependentes do uso do smartphone.</p>
<p>Escala de Procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (EP). Elaborado por <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-39-1834">Tuckman (1991)</xref>, o instrumento &#x00E9; composto por 16 itens (e.g., Eu adio realizar coisas que eu n&#x00E3;o gosto de fazer; Atraso em tomar decis&#x00F5;es dif&#x00ED;ceis), respondidos em uma escala de quatro pontos, variando de 1 (n&#x00E3;o sou eu com certeza) a 4 (sou eu com certeza) que avaliam os indicadores de procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o geral.</p>
<p>Question&#x00E1;rio de Sa&#x00FA;de Geral (QSG-12). Elaborado por <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-25-1834">Pasquali et al. (1994)</xref>, a medida &#x00E9; composta por 12 itens (e.g., Voc&#x00EA; tem se sentido pouco feliz e deprimido?; Voc&#x00EA; tem perdido a confian&#x00E7;a em si mesmo?) respondidos em uma escala de quatro pontos variando de 1 (absolutamente n&#x00E3;o) a 4 (muito mais que de costume) nos itens negativos e de 1 (mais que de costume) a 4 (muito menos que de costume) no caso de itens positivos.</p>
<p>Question&#x00E1;rio dos Valores B&#x00E1;sicos (QVB). Elaborado por <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-12-1834">Gouveia (2013)</xref>, compreende 18 itens ou valores espec&#x00ED;ficos, cobrindo as seis subfun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es valorativas: exist&#x00EA;ncia (estabilidade pessoal, sobreviv&#x00EA;ncia e sa&#x00FA;de), realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (&#x00EA;xito, poder e prest&#x00ED;gio), normativa (obedi&#x00EA;ncia, religiosidade e tradi&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o), suprapessoal (beleza, conhecimento e maturidade), interativa (afetividade, apoio social e conviv&#x00EA;ncia) e experimenta&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (emo&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, prazer e sexual). Com o fim de respond&#x00EA;-lo, o participante deve indicar o grau de import&#x00E2;ncia que cada valor tem como um princ&#x00ED;pio-guia em sua vida, utilizando escala de resposta de sete pontos, variando de 1 (<italic>Pouco importante</italic>) a 7 (<italic>Muito importante</italic>).</p>
</sec>
<sec id="sec-7-1834">
<title><bold>Procedimento</bold></title>
<p>Este estudo contou com aprova&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o do Comit&#x00EA; de &#x00C9;tica em Pesquisa (CAAE: 01476018.5.0000.0021), sendo realizado no formato eletr&#x00F4;nico (formul&#x00E1;rio do google forms), divulgando o link de pesquisa por meio de redes sociais (e.g., Twitter, WhatsApp e Facebook), garantindo-se o car&#x00E1;ter an&#x00F4;nimo e a natureza volunt&#x00E1;ria da participa&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, assegurando o direit o de desistir do estudo sem quaisquer consequ&#x00EA;ncias. Todos assinaram o Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido, segundo recomenda&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o da Resolu&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o CNS 510/16, autorizando a utiliza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o dos dados em produ&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es acad&#x00EA;micas.</p>
</sec>
<sec id="sec-8-1834">
<title><bold>An&#x00E1;lise de dados</bold></title>
<p>Empregou-se o programa <italic>SPSS</italic> (vers&#x00E3;o 21), permitindo calcular estat&#x00ED;sticas descritivas (medidas de tend&#x00EA;ncia central, dispers&#x00E3;o e frequ&#x00EA;ncia). Realizou-se correla&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es (<italic>r</italic> de Pearson) para estimar a rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o entre a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone, a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, a sa&#x00FA;de geral e os valores humanos, assim como, entre a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone e a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o; por fim, regress&#x00E3;o m&#x00FA;ltipla (m&#x00E9;todo stepwise) para avaliar o poder preditivo dos valores na explica&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e da depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone.</p>
</sec>
</sec>
<sec id="sec-9-1834" sec-type="results">
<title><bold>R<sc>esultados</sc></bold></title>
<p>Inicialmente, calcularam-se correla&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es de <italic>Pearson</italic> visando conhecer em que medida e dire&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o as seis subfun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es valorativas se correlacionariam com a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone, a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e com os fatores do question&#x00E1;rio de sa&#x00FA;de geral. Os resultados s&#x00E3;o apresentados na <xref ref-type="table" rid="tabw-1-1834">Tabela 1</xref>.</p>

<p>De acordo com os &#x00ED;ndices de correla&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,05) apresentados na <xref ref-type="table" rid="tabw-1-1834">Tabela 1</xref>, a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone se correlacionou significativamente com a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<italic>r</italic> = 0,50; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001), com a sa&#x00FA;de geral (<italic>r</italic> = -0,26; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001), com os fatores de sa&#x00FA;de geral de depress&#x00E3;o (<italic>r</italic> = 0,23; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) ansiedade (<italic>r</italic> = 0,24; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e autoefic&#x00E1;cia (<italic>r</italic> = -0,23; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e com os valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<italic>r</italic> = 0,15; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e normativa (<italic>r</italic> = -0,13; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001). Estes resultados indicaram que, quanto maior a pontua&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o na medida de depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone, mais as pessoas pontuam em procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, depress&#x00E3;o, ansiedade e menos pontuam em autoefic&#x00E1;cia. Ademais, quanto maior o uso do smartphone, mais as pessoas priorizam valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (&#x00EA;xito, poder e prest&#x00ED;gio) e menos consideram os valores normativos (obedi&#x00EA;ncia, religiosidade e tradi&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o).</p>
<p>Em rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o &#x00E0; procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, verificou-se correla&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o negativa com a sa&#x00FA;de geral (<italic>r =</italic> -0,38; p &#x003C; 0,001), auto efic&#x00E1;cia (<italic>r</italic> = -0,42; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e com os valores da subfun&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o normativa (<italic>r</italic> = -0,35; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o positiva com os fatores de sa&#x00FA;de geral de depress&#x00E3;o (<italic>r</italic> = 0,31; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e ansiedade (<italic>r</italic> = 0,24; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001), indicando que a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o correlaciona-se significativamente com menores pontua&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es do estado de sa&#x00FA;de geral, estando fortemente associada &#x00E0; depress&#x00E3;o, ansiedade e redu&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o da auto efic&#x00E1;cia. Ademais, os resultados mostraram que quanto mais as pessoas procrastinam, menos valorizam a subfun&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o normativa (obedi&#x00EA;ncia, religiosidade e tradi&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o).</p>
<p>Posteriormente, visando ampliar a compreens&#x00E3;o das vari&#x00E1;veis mais vinculadas ao uso das redes sociais, buscou-se verificar em que medida a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone e a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o est&#x00E3;o associadas ao tempo de utiliza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de algumas redes sociais. Os resultados s&#x00E3;o apresentados na <xref ref-type="table" rid="tabw-2-1834">Tabela 2</xref>.</p>

<p>Como podemos observar na <xref ref-type="table" rid="tabw-2-1834">Tabela 2</xref>, a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone se correlacionou com o uso das redes sociais do Facebook (<italic>r</italic> = 0,16; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001), Instagram (<italic>r</italic> = 0,39; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001), Twitter (<italic>r</italic> = 0,36; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e WhatsApp (<italic>r</italic> = 0,28; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001). J&#x00E1; a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, se correlacionou significativamente com o <italic>Instagram</italic> (<italic>r</italic> = 0,25; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001) e o <italic>Twitter</italic> (<italic>r</italic> = 0,30; <italic>p</italic> &#x003C; 0,001). Estes resultados indicam que quanto mais os indiv&#x00ED;duos pontuam em depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone, mais tempo ele passa nas redes sociais citadas, sendo este o mesmo padr&#x00E3;o identificado na procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, onde quanto mais tempo &#x00E9; dedicado ao Instagram e Twitter, mais as pessoas tendem a procrastinar.</p>
<p>Por fim, por meio de an&#x00E1;lise de regress&#x00E3;o m&#x00FA;ltipla (m&#x00E9;todo <italic>stepwise</italic>, a fim de evitar o efeito de multicolinearidade), verificou-se quais subfun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es valorativas, a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e a sa&#x00FA;de geral prediriam o comportamento de depend&#x00EA;ncia das redes sociais. Considerou-se o fator depend&#x00EA;ncia pelas redes sociais como vari&#x00E1;vel-crit&#x00E9;rio, e a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, a sa&#x00FA;de geral (tr&#x00EA;s fatores e pontua&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o total) e as subfun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es valorativas (normativa e realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o) como vari&#x00E1;veis antecedentes (preditoras).</p>
<p>Os resultados observados na <xref ref-type="table" rid="tabw-3-1834">Tabela 3</xref> refor&#x00E7;am os pap&#x00E9;is da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, dos valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (&#x00EA;xito, poder e prest&#x00ED;gio) e da ansiedade como preditores da depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone, explicando conjuntamente 29% (R&#x00B2; ajustado) da vari&#x00E2;ncia das pontua&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es dos participantes na medida de uso de depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone.</p>

<title><bold>D<sc>iscuss&#x00E3;o</sc></bold></title>
<p>O presente estudo teve como objetivo geral avaliar o papel preditivo dos valores humanos, da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e da sa&#x00FA;de geral com rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o &#x00E0; depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone. Diante dos resultados observados, confia-se que esse objetivo tenha sido alcan&#x00E7;ado. Concretamente, foi poss&#x00ED;vel identificar a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, ansiedade e os valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o como preditores da depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-3-1834">Bukhori et al., 2019</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-31-1834">Rozgonjuk at al., 2018</xref>). Esses achados s&#x00E3;o importantes visto que a literatura tem identificado que o uso problem&#x00E1;tico deste aparelho tem impactos prejudiciais na sa&#x00FA;de dos usu&#x00E1;rios (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-36-1834">Sohn et al., 2019</xref>), sendo relevante contar com trabalhos que evidenciem estes impactos demonstrando a pertin&#x00EA;ncia de tratar este tema como uma quest&#x00E3;o de sa&#x00FA;de p&#x00FA;blica.</p>
<p>Pautando-se nos resultados das an&#x00E1;lises, observou-se que a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone se relaciona com a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, semelhante aos achados de outras pesquisas onde pessoas mais dependentes do smartphone apresentaram maiores indicadores de procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-27-1834">Przepiorka et al., 2016</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>). Especificamente, considerando que o uso do smartphone demanda aten&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e permite aos usu&#x00E1;rios o contato com diferentes tipos de atividades l&#x00FA;dicas (e.g., assistir v&#x00ED;deos, filmes, clipes de m&#x00FA;sicas) ou sociais (e.g., conversas individuais ou grupais em chats e visualiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de redes socais), seu emprego aumenta a frequ&#x00EA;ncia com que as pessoas adiam, evitam ou atrasam a finaliza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de algo (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-39-1834">Tuckman, 1991</xref>).</p>
<p>A prop&#x00F3;sito do anteriormente comentado sobre atividades sociais, verificou-se que a depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone tamb&#x00E9;m se relaciona ao tempo di&#x00E1;rio dedicado ao uso de algumas redes sociais, com destaque para o WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram e Facebook, ferramentas de compartilhamento de informa&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es pessoais por meio de textos, fotos e v&#x00ED;deos gerando maior demanda no uso do aparelho e o ato de procrastinar tanto nas atividades gerais quanto em espec&#x00ED;ficas (laboral e acad&#x00EA;mica, <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-40-1834">Yang et al., 2019</xref>). A an&#x00E1;lise desses fen&#x00F4;menos cabe aten&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o visto &#x00E0; possibilidade da pessoa apresentar sentimentos de arrependimento associados &#x00E0; procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-31-1834">Rozgonjuk et al., 2018</xref>), impactando assim em dimens&#x00F5;es relacionadas a sa&#x00FA;de geral (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-10-1834">Esichaiku et al., 2016</xref>).</p>
<p>Em torno dessa discuss&#x00E3;o, estudos recentes indicam aumento na preocupa&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o com rela&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o aos impactos que o uso do smartphone e a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o provocam na sa&#x00FA;de da popula&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o. A literatura produzida indica que indiv&#x00ED;duos procrastinadores apresentam n&#x00ED;veis consideravelmente altos de ansiedade e depress&#x00E3;o, gerando intenso sofrimento psicol&#x00F3;gico e prejudicando a sa&#x00FA;de de maneira geral (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-22-1834">Long et al., 2016</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-28-1834">Reinecke et al., 2018</xref>). Os resultados do presente estudo corroboram estes achados na medida em que foi observado que indiv&#x00ED;duos mais dependentes do smartphone, al&#x00E9;m de procrastinar mais, apresentaram maiores pontua&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es em fatores de sa&#x00FA;de geral relacionados &#x00E0; depress&#x00E3;o e ansiedade. Assim, observa-se a procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e ansiedade como preditores significativos (juntamente com os valores), provavelmente por ambos demandarem das pessoas a busca por ref&#x00FA;gio e conforto e, por conseguinte, o uso demasiado do smartphone (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-22-1834">Long et al., 2016</xref>).</p>
<p>Diante deste cen&#x00E1;rio, inclui-se outra importante dimens&#x00E3;o para explicar o uso do smartphone, visto que os comportamentos online s&#x00E3;o importantes indicativos das vis&#x00F5;es de mundo e dos ideais dos indiv&#x00ED;duos (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-18-1834">Kalimeri et al., 2019</xref>). A esse respeito, consideraram-se as prioridades valorativas dos participantes da pesquisa (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-12-1834">Gouveia, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-34-1834">Soares, 2015</xref>), cujos achados permitem pensar que quanto mais se utiliza o smartphone, mais a pessoa prioriza valores de <italic>realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o</italic> (&#x00EA;xito, poder e prest&#x00ED;gio) e menos os valores <italic>normativos</italic> (obedi&#x00EA;ncia, religiosidade e tradi&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o) como princ&#x00ED;pios que guiam suas vidas.</p>
<p>A esse respeito, identificaram-se como principais preditores do comportamento de depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone, al&#x00E9;m da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e da ansiedade, os valores da subfun&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o <italic>realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o</italic>. Assim, como j&#x00E1; citado anteriormente, pessoas procrastinadoras tendem a se sentirem mais ansiosas, o que as faz passar mais tempo utilizando o aparelho como forma de buscar conforto e ref&#x00FA;gio, buscando os ambientes virtuais como forma de satisfazer suas necessidades reais (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-2-1834">Aslan et al., 2018</xref>).</p>
<p>Nesta dire&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, considerando que os valores apresentam como uma de suas fun&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es a express&#x00E3;o cognitiva de necessidades humanas, identificam-se os valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o como importantes no papel preditivo do uso do smartphone. Estes parecem ser uma das principais causas para o seu uso excessivo, uma vez que, os achados identificaram que as pessoas que usam mais o aparelho s&#x00E3;o orientados por valores que focam na realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o material, busca por &#x00EA;xito e prest&#x00ED;gio e sendo mais endossados por adultos jovens, grupo que tende a utilizar mais esse tipo de aparelho e que comp&#x00F5;em o n&#x00FA;cleo da amostra empregada nesta pesquisa (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-3-1834">Bukhori et al., 2019</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-20-1834">Kennedy e Tuckman, 2013</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-13-1834">Gouveia et al., 2014</xref>).</p>
<p>Quanto ao papel dos valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, cabe destacar o panorama atual no qual os smartphones e o uso da internet e redes sociais est&#x00E3;o inseridos. A cada dia mais pessoas os visualizam n&#x00E3;o apenas como meio de promover atividades e momentos l&#x00FA;dicos (e.g., ver v&#x00ED;deos, compartilhar not&#x00ED;cias, conversar com amigos e familiares), mas sim os empregam no cotidiano laboral a partir de situa&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es que envolvem a compra, venda e divulga&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de profissionais e produtos, atividades realizadas por pessoas que almejam sucesso, &#x00EA;xito, prest&#x00ED;gio reconhecimento e autoafirma&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, possibilitando corroborar a contribui&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o na explica&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o da depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-13-1834">Gouveia et al, 2014</xref>; <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-34-1834">Soares, 2015</xref>).</p>
<p>Apesar dos resultados encontrados, como todo empreendimento cient&#x00ED;fico, o presente estudo n&#x00E3;o est&#x00E1; isento de limita&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es. Entre as potenciais limita&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es, pode-se citar o uso exclusivo de medidas de autorrelato, que pode implicar em respostas enviesadas, uma vez que o respondente pode falsear suas respostas de maneira proposital, distanciando-se de seus reais comportamentos e valores (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-35-1834">Soares et al., 2016</xref>), visto que a depend&#x00EA;ncia de qualquer que seja o objeto n&#x00E3;o &#x00E9; algo desejado a n&#x00ED;vel social (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-4-1834">Caba&#x00F1;as e Korzeniowsk, 2015</xref>). Outra limita&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o compreende a percep&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o do uso do smartphone por parte do usu&#x00E1;rio, que nem sempre condiz com o uso real do aparelho.</p>
<p>N&#x00E3;o obstante, apesar das limita&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es expostas, os resultados encontrados indicam o papel importante da procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o, ansiedade e dos valores de realiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o frente &#x00E0; depend&#x00EA;ncia do smartphone. Pesquisas futuras poder&#x00E3;o enfocar na constru&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de modelos explicativos levando em considera&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o os valores humanos, procrastina&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o e comportamento dependente do smartphone. Estudos que considerem popula&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es onde o uso do smartphone &#x00E9; crescente, como crian&#x00E7;as e adolescentes (<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref-36-1834">Sohn et al., 2019</xref>). Atrelado a isto, sugere-se estudos longitudinais que permitam acompanhar os impactos psicopatol&#x00F3;gicos da utiliza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o. Ademais, poderiam ser realizados estudos qualitativos buscando investigar as motiva&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es que est&#x00E3;o por tr&#x00E1;s do uso de smartphone, incluindo dessa forma pesquisas na internet com o uso de question&#x00E1;rios online, divulga&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o do tema em f&#x00F3;rum e posterior an&#x00E1;lise dos discursos veiculados.</p>
<p>Espera-se que os resultados desta pesquisa possam ser utilizados como subs&#x00ED;dios te&#x00F3;ricos para pais, respons&#x00E1;veis, profissionais da sa&#x00FA;de e os mais diferentes grupos que buscam prevenir o uso inadequado dos smartphones, mas esbarram em obst&#x00E1;culos cada vez mais resistentes em virtude de o uso destes aparelhos estarem cada dia mais presentes em pr&#x00E1;ticas cotidianas importantes como ensino, com&#x00E9;rcio de produtos e rela&#x00E7;&#x00F5;es interpessoais. No entanto, a conscientiza&#x00E7;&#x00E3;o de que o uso inadequado pode gerar preju&#x00ED;zos &#x00E0; vida das pessoas &#x00E9; uma demanda emergencial.</p>
